“A YouTube sensation emerges as musical artist”
Posted on January 20, 2011 • Filed in Article
Nick Bussel, from FHN Today, wrote a nice article on Alyssa. He talks about her being an inspiration, her covers and how amazing she is. Check it out below or here.
Alyssa Bernal is one of the newest up-and-coming artists. Her fame started a few years ago when she began making YouTube videos of herself singing covers of other artists such as “Train” and “Lady Gaga.” Now, she has her own songs and her first album “In Love Again For The First Time,” whose songs reflect her life experiences.
I like her versatility because, even though not many artists try different techniques, she does. Currently, her style wavers between Pop and Country. Personally, I was intrigued by her when I first saw her on YouTube. She had a sweet voice and a really peppy personality. Her voice sounds good on video even without it being enhanced by a studio recording. Because her fame started on Youtube, I think she’s very inspirational.
Now that Alyssa Bernal has been discovered, I think that she has the potential to go far, and really please people with her music in the same way she has done for me.
New personal picture

I added one personal picture taken from a fan on Twitter. Alyssa looks gorgeous, as always, and seems to be wearing something similar to the latest photoshoot set. Wonder how come so many pictures of her wearing this seem to be emerging?
“Alyssa Bernal: Discovered through YouTube?”
Posted on January 13, 2011 • Filed in Article
I just found a very touching article on Alyssa. It was written by Caroline Seche for Highlights. It definitely represents what many of us think of Alyssa: amazing and inspiring. Check it out!
I’ve reviewed other artists, but Alyssa Bernal is different. The others were kids just like Alyssa, who got lucky. They were discovered and now have released their first or maybe fiftieth CD, but Alyssa, what separates her from, Taylor Swift, is that she was discovered on YouTube. Imagine if suddenly, the girl behind the YouTube screen name has a record label; an album. You can always watch videos of artists like Lady Gaga or Eminem also on YouTube, but how many of those artists made a connection with their audience before they were signed?
Trust me here, check out her videos, and not only the professionally done ones, but the originals that got her all the way to releasing her first album. To watch someone singing to their webcam is a different experience than simply seeing them in concert or buying their CD’s; they’re closer to being real when they’re doing something so normal, that maybe you do too. When a person sits in their bathroom singing to their computer, it makes them seem more like they’re an average person-like the normal teen you are. In Alyssa Bernal’s videos she’s alive, and she’s shy and funny and friendly and most of the time has her friends lying on a couch behind her.
Now tell me, does not stardom seem like it’s that much closer when the girl you subscribed to on YouTube was discovered through it?
Bernal–she has a voice that really sings to you; in more than one way. She is one of those extraordinary artists who will never need the fancy costumes or revealing outfits or vocal modifications. She has done amazing on YouTube, so why should it change now?

Those videos are from September 2010, but I wanted to show them here. In the first one, she talks about three things you didn’t know about her: being a cheerleader, snorting when she laughs and her love for horror movies. In the second, she offers an exclusive performance of Hey Love. Check them out!
New Jason Mraz cover

Alyssa posted a new video of her covering a Jason Mraz song, “You and I Both”. She sang it beautifully and looked beautiful too, with a more mature look. A lot of people on Youtube commented on her looks (mostly her lipstick color), but I won’t. I just think she looks gorgeous and will support and defend her no matter what. (:

I have added over a thousand screencaptures of Alyssa’s personal Youtube channel’s 3 minutes and less videos and I finally got to add the Cali, Cali, Cali music video screencaptures. I will not post all of the albums like I did last time, but you can check out the images by following the links below.
Also, a reminder to vote for Alyssa Bernal Web here!
Vote for Alyssa Bernal Web

Hi everyone! I’d like you to help me and support the site by voting for me here. I’m currently the site with the less votes, so it’d mean a whole bunch if you could cast a vote for Alyssa’s best fansite! Also, my design site, Tinsel Dreams, is up against the biggest and best designer out there: Shawn Corson! So it’d also mean so much if you could vote for me here. Thank you!

Alyssa posted a new totally gorgeous picture as her Twitter display picture. Her hair and makeup are flawless and her clothing is fantastic. It is also the same as what she’s wearing in this Twitpic. Looking at the quality, it looks like a photoshoot, but I’m not sure. She also has a Beats headset, so
it might be for an advertisement… or not. We’ll seek for more information on that. But for now, we’re happy to own a new “ maybe-photoshoot” beautiful picture and a possible new image for the next layout! EDIT: Thanks to someone on Twitter, I was able to find a second small picture of the same set and learn that it was taken by Rhonda Callan, who is behind JRPhotography!
New icons added

I added almost 100 icons yesterday and today. 50 of them have been donated, again, by the amazing Taylor and the rest have been made by me with photoshoots and pictures from ISA LA. We now have over 550 icons and the archive is still growing! EDIT: 50 more icons by Nicole have been added.
First song title of “In Love Again For The First Time”

According to The Neptunes, one song of Alyssa’s first album will be called One of Us and will be featuring the one who got her signed: Pharell Williams! I don’t know if this is true, but The Neptunes seems to be a quite reliable source for Pharell Williams. Let’s just see if it’s going to be confirmed or not!
Also, on a totally different note, on the same site, I found Alyssa’s top ten Christmas songs.
01 – Whitney Houston – The Christmas Song
02 – Frank Sinatra – Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas
03 – Bing Crosby – Winter Wonderland
04 – Celine Dion – O Holy Night
05 – José Feliciano – Feliz Navidad
06 – Mariah Carey – All I Want For Christmas Is You
07 – Charles Brown – The Christmas Song
08 – Rascal Flatts – I’ll be Home for Christmas
09 – Amy Grant – Grown Up Christmas List
10 – Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer
Yeah, I know I’m a bit late with that, but better late than never, right?
